follow these steps:Go to the "Start Menu" and open the "Control Panel." Once the "Control Panel" is open, click on the "Network" icon and, from there, select the option "Set up a Connection or Network."
Step2 Choose the option "Set up a Dial-up Connection." You will be presented a list of different connection types, choose the option "Set up a Dial-up Connection." In the next window, enter #777 into the box labeled "Dial-up Phone Number." While the access number #777 works with most carriers, check with you carrier if you encounter access problems.
Step3 enter a username or account  and password  directed by your wireless provider. Create a name for your connection and enter it in the box labeled "Connection Name."
Step4 In the taskbar, right click on the connection icon and choose disconnect to end a session. Click connect at the bottom of the menu. You should be authenticated and connected within a matter of seconds. If you need to reestablish a connection, your connection will appear in the "Network" menu inside of the "Control Panel."
acct name is cell number@uscc.net  password is cell number

let me know how it goes.

this dont make any sence to me. wouldnt you have to set your phone up as a modem first, and how do you do that? my phone wont let me. i have the delve on USCC. i really want to tether but i need it to recognize the phone as a modem.

when you plug your phone to the computer it should ask you do you wanna use as a mass storage and hit yes and you have to have memory card in your phone and then follow those directions i posted.i have uscc also and i have my phone tethered to my laptop but i used a bluetooth dongle not the usb data cable.

Does tethering go against your contract minutes with Verizon/Alltel..?  I have an unlimited data plan, but wondered if there is any difference.

I followed the instructions here and have been using my Delve as a modum quite a lot.  I am with US Cellular.  It doesn't use my minutes.  It uses bandwidth.  But I have a plan with unlimited bandwidth.

I have been told that if you don't use it all the time as a modum, the phone company won't notice.  But if you use up a lot of bandwidth, they might come after you.
