Hmm... odd, because even US Cellular allowed for this on a simple phone like the KRZR and even the Razor.

So... currently there is no solution for Alltel's Samsung Delve to get Ringtones that can be found on this forum... correct?

How about trying to email them to your phone via the phonenumber@alltelsemailaddress?? (You can find out what your email address is from a quick google search).

ummmm what do you search for?  I mean what do you put into the search box to get the email address?  sorry such a newbie.

AND..... does this mean Alltel is monitoring sites like this to block our efforts to circumvent their "pay for ringtones" service?

I doubt it miaoreo since it is currently possible, (though difficult), to get ring tones without the use of a site.  Or, well, I believe that's the case for Alltel? (You'll have to search the forums)

If you are alltel, your alltel cell email will be xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com X=your phone number
Even if you get ringtones through email/text, you can not set them as ringtones. You have to change the file from .mp3 to .qcp on your computer then bluetooth to phone.  If you need to know how to do that, search for it on here. There is alot of good info that is already posted. All you have to do is read the posts. Thats how I found out things before I got the phone. Smiley

I hope that didn't sound mean or rude. (The part about "all you have to do is read the posts") I didn't mean it that way.

Haha, Jessica... you're so worried about what people will think you meant as this is the second time I've seen an unnecessary apology from you.  I understand though, text on a message board without the ability to read body language is a very difficult thing to decipher.

And I will concur with Jessica that you should read the posts.  There definitely is a lot of information on these forums that in a few short months has been accumulated.

i heard that the only site that works with alltel as far as ringtones is ventones.com hope this helps alltel customers
This is what I did and it workes great....
First find a site to download from.  The site HAS to let you download the ring to your COMPUTER and not the phone.  Myxertones does this I believe & so does Zedge.

Ok here's the trick:  you HAVE to have a bluetooth enabled computer or a bluetooth dongle.  Why?  B/c for some odd reason, bluetoothing the ring is the only way it'll be accessible. You can get a dongle online for cheap or I just bought mine @ walmart for $20.  Anyway, save any ringtones you want into a folder.  Here, you have to change the file extension from mp3 to qcp.  To display the file extensions, click on Tools>Folder Options, and uncheck "Hide Extensions for known file types".  After you do that you can change the ringtone's type.

Example:

Myringtone.mp3

Change to:

Myringtone.qcp

From here you HAVE TO BLUETOOTH the file to the phone.  If you try to do it via usb cable it will not work. BLUETOOTH is the only option. Using this process you'll be able to use any mp3 file on your phone by turning it into a qcp file.  It sounds more complicated than it really is... LOL
