I know some of you have had the phone for a good month or so now and was wondering if you wouldn't mind putting up some reviews of your own on here.  What are you current gripes? What do you love most that you don't seem to find in other phones?  It'd be neat to get consumer reviews, rather than just journalistic reviews.

Go ahead and post them in this forum!

Hi, Ive had my Delve for almost 3 wks now.  I'm a let's say mature woman and at first the touch process was a little weird for me.  It took about 2 days and I was use to the phone and knew my way around it and learned most of the functions.  The Manuel is useless as far as I'm concerned.  It's trial and eror.  I am disappointed in a couple of functions like the web which doesn't support flash.  That really limits what you can view.  Also what has been discussed in this forum the usb cable does not allow you to connect to your pc to transfer music etc.  I know some has accomplished that but I haven't.  I have Alltel as my carrier.  I hope they get this fixed in the near future.  Generally the phone quality is good, good reception but needs some improvements. I haven't done any extensive looking, but I do believe that Flash 7 is actually installed, with a rumor I heard, (don't know and can't remember the source, so take this with a grain of salt), that a future software update will have a more updated version of flash.

Great feedback!

Had it since christmas...

Overall it's a nice phone and a big upgrade over over my last.. The touchscreen is very nice and responsive, and texting on it is easy as pie. I like the MP3 Player function and the other multimedia functions. The interface and touchwiz are quite nice. The browser is fantastic.

Cons.

How annoying it is to get custom ringtones. How you can't really put custom games and apps onto it because of easy edge crap.

Easy edge itself is a con.

Battery life is on the short side.

I have had my Delve for over a month now, I really like the design and most of the functions. I just wish there was a way to hook up to the pc and download songs, ringtones etc. So far that is the only drawback, I am sure as time goes by there will be more gripes. All we can do is wait and see.

i like the touchwiz, the browser and the full keyboard.  I like the options, but most important it feels substantial in my hand. Some of the negatives would be the tilt switch (accelerometer), no WI-FI, and the escalating ringer. The pro's out weigh the con's though. Overall i haven't had any big problems except easyedge but that isn't samsung's fault.

I've had my phone for at least 2 months now...probably close to 3 months or so...I love my phone...yes, there are a few annoying things but I've gotten over it.  It's been really nice to be able to use my phone as a "modem" for my laptop!  Not the fastest but if I'm somewhere that doesn't have wi-fi, it's great!  I think I saw a couple comments on some issues that people have had that I'd like to try and help with if possible... As far as hooking up the phone to a computer via the USB connection, once you plug it in, it should ask you if you'd like to use the phone as "mass media" storage-this is of course assuming you've bought and installed a MicroSD card into your phone.  I got a 4gb one for less than $20.  Hope that helps.  The other comment I saw was about downloading ringtones.  While it only gives you a chunk of the song, myxer.com allows you to upload a song from your computer and send to your phone.  It's free and if you're only doing a couple ringtones, you don't even have to register (which is also free).  I know Samsung Delve isn't listed as one of the phones on their site but I registered mine as a Motorola Razr and it still sent the songs to my phone.  For US Cell users, it sends it as a "pic message" and incoming should be free so it won't cost you anything...don't know about Alltel users!  Hope this helps some people. Well, it does on US Cellular.  I don't know if there's something different with Alltel's service that would prevent you from getting the ringtones.  Sometimes it can take over 5 minutes to get the ringtone from Myxer but as I said, never had a problem with it.  I don't now how long ago you tried but maybe try again?  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Good luck.

My Review:
This is my review of the Samsung Delve in the form of pros and cons. My previous phone was a Motorola Razr. I was looking for more of a gadget than a cell phone since I do not receive or make a lot of phone calls. I wanted features like the touch screen interface, mp3 player w/Bluetooth, internet w/landscape viewing, memory card slot to hold movies and music. Alltel had only three choices the LG Glimmer, HTC Touch or the Samsung Delve, and I think I chose the Delve because the Glimmer didn't have an expandable memory slot, and the HTC was more expensive.

***Pros:
Free applications like navigation, radio, TV, weather and Nutsie. Touch screen works really well. Bluetooth setup is easy, and I can listen to mp3s on my Bluetooth headphones with good sound quality. Internet works well with options for full screen viewing and zoom, favorites etc. Free navigation, I like that. The radio program, TV, and Nutsie are good but not great. Thanks to this web site I can finally load my own ring tones. Widgets are a nice touch for quick access to the mp3 player and calendar.

****Cons:
The phone is not supporting flash or is not enabled, so web content with flash does not display (my biggest complaint). The phone speaker is not that powerful so midrange and lows are kind of muffled when you play your mp3 files through the phone's speaker. The auto lock is annoying during phone calls because sometimes you need to enter extension numbers or other options and you must unlock the phone to do so. But in other modes it can also prolong battery life so to me it's a necessary evil. No accelerometer like the iPhone and other top of the line touch screen phones, which would be a nice feature to have. Speaker phone volume is a little weak and sometime hard to hear. The screen is sometimes hard to see in direct sunlight, so you have to adjust the angle in which you view the phone. The phone does not have a resume feature, so if you are watching a movie or listening to mp3s and stop the player, it will not resume. And lastly the phone is locked down; we are not able to download content off the internet to our phones like games and other applications. I know that the phone is kind of new and hopefully in the near future there will be some patches or upgrades to the software in the phone.

Overall: I am happy with the phone and it gives me something to play with throughout the day at work, or somewhere I would have to wait like the service center at the Ford dealership. I would like to upgrade to either a iPhone, Blackberry Storm or Samsung Omnia but with Alltel no chance. Maybe once this Verizon /Alltel merger happens I could take the Blackberry Storm out for a try. Thanks for reading and this Forum rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiley
