Thanks polizi212, I'll try this out in the next day or so. Hopefully I can get it to work. The only thing is, I'm not very wild about only having 10 seconds of a song for a ringer. I loved my old phone that would play the song for as long as it was ringing. Not very much you can get out of 10 seconds. It's worth a ty though.

I do agree but its a short term fix to a long term problem. I plan on getting a bluetooth adapter for my computer and sending them that way here soon, but if anyone has no means of bluetoothing them this method at least gives them an option. I myself dont like the idea of having to pay for a mp3 ring tone when I have already purchased the CD why buy it again but in a ringtone format just because alltel whats to make more money off me.

Thanks for writing that tut. I would like to be the first here to CONFIRM THAT THIS DOES WORK.

The only thing I can see wrong is that the file will receive some crazy name instead of the one I named it. once on the phone, mine is labeled as "4d6284f9bdff-2". No big deal people. All you have to do is check the sound before you set it as a ringer.

Thanks again Polizi212

If you have an issue after sending the ringtone with the name alltel gives it you can very easily rename the file to what ever you like. if you need to know how I would be glad to write that up as well.

Please do so everyone can rename the file to easily know which one they are looking for. I myself, just know which is which, but rnaming them would be nice. I haven't even looked into it. Thanks for the effort Polizi212. It's nice to have Jay-Z ringing instead of the factor type.

Ok here is all you have to do to rename your files once you have them saved on your phone from sending them to your self from alltel mypics site.

Go to Menu, tap multimedia, tap my sounds, find the sound file you have that has a name you dont know, while it is playing tap pause, tap the more option and then tap Rename, Now using what ever keypad you prefer name the file what what ever you like and tap done. you now should be more readily able to find that oh so special file for use later...

Thanks again for another step by step tut. I'm sure this will be very useful to others. I can't believe they haven't stickied this topic. It's one of the most searched topics for Alltel customers. Lets nag them until they do Polizi.

There's a little more involved here than simply changing the names of the files. Changing the name does nothing, but corrupts the fie. Change an (.mp3) file into a (.qcp) file and then try to play it. I bet it doesn't work huh? You must actually convert a file into another format with that extension. That seems like a much harder way though.

The only way I could download ringtones was to have someone text them to me, then you go to Multimedia/My Sounds.  You can get then set them as your ringtones.  Bluetoothing them does not work for the Delve. Hope this helps.
