 MREEVES,
I've converted 20 or so vid clips and so far the clearity is excellent. Someone was talking about format size on vids being 240x400. That's only for wallpapers. The highest for vids is 320x240, pics 1200x1600.

You can get the media specs if you go to www.samsung.com, consumer, mobile phones, under product finder sch-r800usc, support-downloads, FAQS, question 20.
For some reason the alltel version doesn't show up when you click on the question.

I have noticed that some are posting issues about problems with the video playback and decided to do some fiddling of my own...I have only had the phone for a few days now and decided to check out video capabilities.  I converted my video file to the mp4 format and placed it on my micro-SD card making sure to put it in the "video" folder provided after I formatted the disk on the phone.  I went into the multimedia icon and clicked on "My videos" and there it was...But...when I tried to play the file I was promted with a message that read: Unsupported file type.   Hmm...That's weird, this phone should support mp4 formats.  So I thought maybe the dimensions I chose for the video were wrong...320x240...but after researching I found that this was actually correct.  So my next thought was that maybe Samsung only recognized certain file extensions ie: .jpeg .tif .mp3 , these are denoted at the end of the file's name.  If you make some adjustments using windows as prescribed by previous threads in this forum you will be able to use any file extension you wish by simply renaming the file.(right-click)  Long story short, although I swear the file already had the correct extension .mp4 I decided to rename the file in my case QuantumSolice.mp4 and low and behold it worked.  The file was suddenly recognizable and played perfectly.  So for the person who swears that they cannot play mp4 formats on their phone, I suggest you try this!  (Maybe the file name has too many dots(.) in it...ie: (Quantum.Solice.mp4) and this is what makes it unreadable) Good luck.

just got the delve for alltel last week. I have been trying to get videos to play on the phone. I have found that there are multiple types of .mp4 file type extension. The H264 version does not work. but the straight mpeg4 version does work on the phone. I used the AVS Video Tools 5.6.1.715 to convert dvds to .mp4

AVS video tools is share ware you can download but unless you pay for it and register it has a water mark across the center of the video. However you can download a cracked version from mininova.org Here is the link for the torrent to get the program. It is clean and virus free and works great I have been using it now with no problems.

It is so great to find a forum like this .

I was told by a friend of mine that they put movies on their ipod via either DVDShrink or DVDDecrypter, (can't remember which..., but I think it's the decrypter)  I have both but I've never explored the idea of creating video files designed for the iPod.  When I get home, maybe I'll check and see what all it can do, or if someone else has it here, then maybe you could let us know if you can get it working with these two programs.

I'm not sure if forum rules would allow me to post this site here, but for those of you who can only view movies or videos in 3gp format (I'm included), I found a forum online where people, mainly "Paul", have been gracious enough to post links to download movies already in 3gp format. There have been NUMEROUS movies posted on the forum. Linked below....Hope someone finds it helpful!  Wink

***Note*** Yesterday the forum leader stated that he will no longer be posting movies in 3gp format and will start posting in mp4, but he is of course going to leave all the ones he posted prior to yesterday up for people to download.
